The Trail Conservancy Welcomes Julie Fisher as New CEO
Lifelong Austinite to lead The Trail Conservancy through a transformative era of growth, preservation, and restoration beginning February 17, 2025.
The Trail Conservancy (TTC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Julie Fisher as its new CEO. A lifelong Austinite and passionate advocate for nonprofits, Julie brings a unique blend of corporate expertise, community leadership, and a personal connection to the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.
Julie joins TTC after a distinguished career, most recently serving as Global Community Impact Senior Manager at National Instruments, where she fostered impactful relationships with local nonprofits, community leaders, and public interest groups. She has a long-standing history of service to Austin’s nonprofit sector, including board roles with organizations like Breakthrough Central Texas, Leadership Austin, and numerous green space and education initiatives. Julie’s dedication to ensuring nonprofits thrive in Austin aligns perfectly with TTC’s mission to protect, enhance, and connect Austin’s most treasured urban green space.
“The Butler Trail holds a special place in my heart,” Julie shared. “It’s where I’ve trained with running groups, honored my parents with commemorative bricks, and found joy in volunteering. Leading The Trail Conservancy is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to work alongside this incredible team to ensure the Trail remains a welcoming and inspiring space for all Austinites.”
Julie’s connection to the Trail runs parallel to her professional achievements. She has twice been named a finalist for Austin’s 40 Under 40 Awards, recognizing her leadership and commitment to Austin’s community. As a longtime member and supporter of TTC, Julie is uniquely positioned to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and innovation.
“Julie’s deep connection to the Trail, combined with her expertise in building partnerships and driving community impact, makes her the ideal leader for this next chapter at The Trail Conservancy,” said Mike Shaw, Board Chair of The Trail Conservancy. “Her vision for inclusivity and sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission, and her extensive experience will be key as we embark on transformative projects like the revitalization of the Seaholm Intake Facility and the Holly Shores redevelopment. With Julie’s leadership, we look forward to advancing our work to protect, enhance, and connect the Butler Trail as a treasured resource for all Austinites.”
Under Julie’s leadership, TTC will continue its efforts to protect the Trail’s natural beauty, connect diverse communities, and foster meaningful experiences for Austin residents and visitors alike.
