The Trail Conservancy’s Day in the Dirt is an opportunity for groups to promote volunteerism and environmental stewardship while building cohesiveness and camaraderie. This highly- customized volunteer day includes a TTC staff member dedicated to your group and facilitating the volunteer event. Our trained field staff will supervise your company’s Day in the Dirt, providing all tools and equipment needed and coordinating with City entities such as Austin Parks and Recreation Department and Watershed Protection Department for the volunteer activities.
Funds raised from these engaging and impactful events go toward expenses for the volunteer day, such as tools, mulch, trees, saplings, irrigation, staff time, etc.
Day in the Trail Dirt Volunteer Activities include, but are not limited to:
Building Gardens
Installing Native Plants & Sapling Trees
Spreading Native Wildflower Seed
Removing Invasive Plants
Spreading Mulch & Compost

Thursday and Friday mornings are reserved for Day in the Dirt projects. The custom volunteer events typically last 3 hours, and are scheduled from 9am-12pm in order to complete a quality project for the Trail. A Day in the Dirt must be scheduled at least three weeks prior to the preferred event date.
