Tune in to the Trail is an innovative educational program developed through a partnership between The Trail Foundation and the Austin Independent School District. The program, while still in its pilot phase, brings customized nature-based learning to the 2nd graders at Oak Springs Elementary, a Title I school in East Austin. The Trail Foundation’s conservation staff and key AISD staff spend time every week introducing students to different parts of the Butler Trail at Lady Bird Lake. The weekly lessons help support the learning goals of Oak Springs teachers and staff.Â
Shake up your Wednesday nights with Music on the Trail—a free live music series right on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. Every week in October, the Rainey Street Trailhead lawn transforms into Austin’s coolest outdoor concert spot, featuring incredible local musicians.
Join The Trail Conservancy and Latino Outdoors for a free family-friendly fishing event at the Holly Fishing Pier on the Butler Hike and Bike Trail. No experience necessary - Latino Outdoors will provide basic fishing instruction, and all fishing poles and bait will be provided. All ages are welcome!
