Comprehensive Signage Plan

Coming late summer/early fall of 2025, The Trail Conservancy will install a new wayfinding system across the Butler Trail, starting with mile markers. Outdated and inconsistent signage on the Trail created challenges for navigation. In response, in 2022, TTC partnered with Page/Branding & Graphics to design a modern, inclusive wayfinding system. Guided by community input and TTC’s 2021 Safety & Mobility Study, the completed 2025 Comprehensive Signage Plan improves visibility, connectivity, and safety across the Trail.

about the mile program

Miles are available for one or three-year adoption terms at the rate of $20,000 annually. Adoption fees are a 100% tax-deductible donation to The Trail Conservancy and will support our work where needed most. Your adoption includes a TTC-organized volunteer activity (selected by our Ecological Restoration team based on need) within your mile for up to 50 people.

Adopters will receive name recognition on four (4) 4.5" square plaques on our brand new mile marker signs, which are set to be installed in late summer/early fall 2025. These (4) recognition plaques will be affixed to the (3) mile marker signs within your mile to ensure maximum visibility. For example, the Mile 5 adopter would see their plaque entering Mile 5 clockwise on the Trail, on both sides of the 5.5 half-mile marker, and on the opposite side of the Mile 6 marker—to be visible when entering Mile 5 from a counterclockwise direction.

The adoption fee for your mile will not be restricted to the maintenance of said mile, and may support other areas of TTC's work as needed. The cost of the plaques and ongoing maintenance will be covered in your adoption fee. Our Park Operations team will be monitoring the condition of all signs within the park and performing repairs and replacements as needed. Feel free to contact us directly if you notice vandalism that may need to be addressed.
