My father Samuel Patrick Black loved Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake)! It was his happy place for 40 years. He moved to Pecan Grove so he could walk/run before and after a long day at work. I remember as a kid we would race across the bridge near Austin High. He was a runner and I would ride my bike for many years. Anytime I would ask him what he would like to do over the weekend, walking the lake was at the top of the list! He also liked many of the improvements that had been made over the years. He would always pick up trash if we walked by it so he was very happy when more and more people started to care about the trail. It will always remind me of him. RIP Dad (1956-2019), I love you!
