In 2014, I matched with a guy on a dating app. Normally I was hesitant to meet up with anyone, but Sam suggested we run The Lake. I figured if I didn’t like him I could at least outrun him (and get a good run in). Instead, it turned out to be love at first run and a year later he proposed to me at The Rock (where we first met). Since then we have ran the lake in the good times (on our wedding day) and hard times (one way during the pandemic). Now we take our almost one year old and doggy to the trail regularly and I think they may love it more than we do. It is our favorite place for family time in Austin.
Kids on Bikes in Parks is a free cycling event presented by Violet Crown, The LeadOut Foundation, and The Trail Conservancy. We have a closed course of 1000 ft of grassy parkland for children ages 5-15 to ride their bikes on. We will have open track time with experienced cyclists present to teach lessons and at the top of every hour, we will have timed laps for kids to test themselves and track their progress.
