About the Artist
Julie Nolen is a Texas-based singer-songwriter whose music blends raw storytelling with the grit of rock & roll. Born under the wide-open skies of West Texas, her songs carry the dust of desert highways and the resilience of those who call them home. A proud voice in queer country, Julie brings authenticity to a genre rooted in tradition, proving that country music is for everyone.
In 2025, she was an official SXSW artist, showcasing her dynamic live performance. Now, she’s rolling out a five-song project leading up to a full EP drop in time for AmericanaFest in September. The lead single, “Love Me When I’m Leaving,” sets the tone for a collection of songs that explore the beauty and heartbreak of moving on.
Whether playing an intimate acoustic set or leading a full band, Julie delivers music that’s as honest as it is powerful. A Little bit moody, a little bit soulful country, a little in your face, unapologetic, and bold.
