about the project
The Trail Conservancy partnered with the Austin Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) to replace and enhance the existing exercise equipment that sits adjacent to the Trail on the southwest corner of Riverside and Lamar near the PARD headquarters.
The Trail Conservancy worked with Oro Design Group to develop the schematic design for this space based on community input. The updated exercise area includes new surfacing that creates a much more enjoyable and safe environment to enjoy your workouts, a seating plaza nestled into native trees and shrubs that create a space to cool down after your workouts, and a solar powered chilled drinking fountain for you and your pups!
