Shoreline Stewardship: Restoration Planting

Shoreline Stewardship
Join The Trail Conservancy in our efforts to restore the shoreline of Lady Bird Lake to a functional ecosystem. In partnership with the city of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department, Shoreline Stewardship volunteer events are led by TTC’s Park Operations Team and focus on either invasive species management, native plant seeding and planting, or maintaining green stormwater infrastructure.
What: Planting native sedges, grasses, and forbs along the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail– no experience necessary!
Why: Provides a diverse ground cover and suppresses weed pressure while insulating the bank from erosion in regions between the Trail and the Lake.
