Let’s Go Birding Together (LGBT) Bird Walk with Travis Audubon

Join Amy Sugeno and TTC Environmental Programs Manager Jonatan Salinas to find birds on the Butler Trail at the Unity Underpass and Wishbone Bridge. Recently planted native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and natural spring water provide excellent habitats for a variety of bird species. As TTC restores this section of the Butler Trail, there will be a change in birds!
Let’s Go Birding Together welcomes everyone in the LGBTQIA2+ community who is curious about nature, birds, and birding to come enjoy a monthly nature walk together. Everyone deserves to spend time in nature without fear about their safety or wondering if they will be welcome and accepted. With a primary focus on community and connection, our walks offer space for everyone to experience the joys of nature in a safe, affirming, and inclusive space.
While the walks prioritize creating space for the LGBTQIA2+ community, allies, friends, and family are also welcome to participate.
Bird walks are:
- 1-2 miles long, completed in around 2 hours
- Beginner-friendly (all levels are welcome)
- On mostly flat terrain (dissolved gravel trail and sidewalks)
- We have binoculars to lend to anyone who doesn’t have a pair
Bird walks are always free, but registration is required and is limited to 30 participants. A reminder email with details will be sent before the bird walk date.
