SUMMARY:BIPOC Bird Walk with Travis Audubon
DESCRIPTION:Join Mohammad Tohidiar and TTC Environmental Programs Manager Jonatan Salinas to find birds on the Northeast end of the Butler Trail at the Unity Underpass and Wishbone Bridge. Recently planted native trees\, shrubs\, wildflowers\, and natural spring water provide excellent habitats for a variety of bird species. As TTC restores this section of the Butler Trail\, there will be a change in birds! \nTravis Audubon’s BIPOC Bird Walks intentionally welcome Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color to build community and connection through enjoying birds and birding. These walks are intended to be safe\, welcoming\, and affirming spaces where BIPOC individuals can enjoy the beauty of birding and nature together. \nWe invite anyone who identifies as BIPOC and who supports our values of diversity\, equity\, inclusion\, and access to join us. Friends\, family\, and allies are welcome to attend as space allows. \nBird walks are: \n\n1-2 miles long\, completed in around 2 hours\nBeginner-friendly (all levels are welcome)\nOn mostly flat terrain (dissolved gravel trail and sidewalks)\nWe have binoculars to lend to anyone who doesn’t have a pair\n\nBird walks are always free\, but registration is required and is limited to 20 participants. A reminder email with details will be sent before the bird walk date. \nRegister

As TTC restores this section of the Butler Trail\, there will be a change in birds! \nLet’s Go Birding Together welcomes everyone in the LGBTQIA2+ community who is curious about nature\, birds\, and birding to come enjoy a monthly nature walk together. Everyone deserves to spend time in nature without fear about their safety or wondering if they will be welcome and accepted. With a primary focus on community and connection\, our walks offer space for everyone to experience the joys of nature in a safe\, affirming\, and inclusive space. \nWhile the walks prioritize creating space for the LGBTQIA2+ community\, allies\, friends\, and family are also welcome to participate. \nBird walks are: \n\n1-2 miles long\, completed in around 2 hours\nBeginner-friendly (all levels are welcome)\nOn mostly flat terrain (dissolved gravel trail and sidewalks)\nWe have binoculars to lend to anyone who doesn’t have a pair\n\n  \nBird walks are always free\, but registration is required and is limited to 30 participants.
