Here’s How Nutritionist Sydney Torabi Enjoys Her Time on the Trail

Native Austinite and regular Trail user Sydney Torabi is a personal trainer and nutritionist who pens the local fitness blog Spin Syddy. The self-proclaimed “workout-a-holic” trains on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at least once every week, and sometimes two or three times a week. She uses the exercise equipment at the Auditorium Shores Trailhead to stretch before and after her workouts. Her regular Trail routine consists of a three-mile run down the Boardwalk, stopping at every bench for 10 step-ups, push-ups, burpees, and lunges. For a cardio bonus after gym sessions, she also loves adding a 30-minute run around Lady Bird Lake to the end of her workouts. Sydney also uses the Trail as her personal escape between high-intensity sessions at Crush Fitness, where she teaches nine classes a week. “It’s a nice way to relax, take in Mother Nature, and refocus my energy when I feel physically and emotionally drained,” she says. As the weather gets cooler, her Trail visits become more and more frequent. Sydney’s looking forward to the season change and says she’ll be on the Trail as much as possible this fall. Check out her Instagram and Facebook to follow her latest fitness adventures, and feel free to say “hello” if you pass her on the Trail.
