The Trail has meant so much in so many people’s lives. If you would like to honor a living person’s love for the Trail or the memory of someone special, please consider a donation in honor or in memory of that person. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your gift is put to good use with a lasting legacy at the beloved Trail. Donations at higher levels may be eligible for permanent recognition at our projects. Please contact Kylie Rush to discuss providing major support for a project.
When you give an honorary or memorial gift, you’ll be asked to provide the name and address for the person you’d like notified about your gift, as well as the name, city and state of the person being honored. We will mail an announcement letter to the person you request to be notified.
You can recognize someone special, mark a milestone or celebrate a special life event, such as a birthday, retirement, or wedding by donating to the Trail.

Lakeshore Park Commemorative Bricks
Leave a lasting memory and become part of the history of Lady Bird Lake and the Butler Trail at Lakeshore Park at the east entrance to the Boardwalk. These personally engraved commemorative bricks pay tribute to Trail lovers and their friends, family, and Trail dogs.
Buyers who purchase bricks in honor of someone else can print a gift notice after they place their order. Brick installations happen twice per year, in the spring and fall.

Boardwalk Benches
Through a TTF-facilitated bench adoption program, members of the public are now able to honor and dedicate these benches to loved ones. Adopting a bench is a beautiful and impactful way to personalize a part of the Trail and honor a loved one. With a limited number of benches available, adoptions last ten years, and adopters receive first right of refusal to renew for another decade.

Endowment Fund
We are accepting donations for our Endowment Fund at the Austin Community Foundation. Endowment funds will assure the long term maintenance of our projects at the Trail.
There are no memorial benches available at the Butler Trail but there are many memorial benches available in other City of Austin parks. Please contact Sonia.Freeland@austintexas.gov for more information about availability for benches outside of the Trail.
