Public Can Buy Personalized Bricks to Support Town Lake Trail
AUSTIN, TX – November 7, 2006- For 30 years, Austinites have left their footprints along the Town Lake Trail–now they can leave something permanent.
Beginning this week, supporters of this Austin treasure can purchase commemorative bricks and become a lasting part of Town Lake Trail history. Approximately 2,500 bricks will be placed at Lou Neff Point as part of the final restoration of this area near the confluence of the Colorado River and Barton Creek.
Bricks are priced at $100, $500, and $1,000, depending on size (4”x8”, 8”x8”, 12”x12”). There are limited quantities of each, but all sizes can be personalized with a name or names. Proceeds support the Town Lake Trail Foundation’s efforts to improve the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail. To see a brick sample or to place an order, visit www.townlaketrail.org. Buyers who purchase bricks in honor of someone else can print a gift notice after they place their order.
The Town Lake Trail Foundation (TLTF) was formed in 2003 with a mission to improve and protect the scenic hike and bike trail that shadows the lush Colorado River as it flows through Austin. The Foundation takes contributions and donations from concerned individuals, organizations and corporations and puts them to work to assure the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail remains one of the most natural and well-maintained hike and bike paths in the United States.
