Permanent Mark at The Butler Trail

Alex and Alisa Victoria bought a brick at Lou Neff Point with their dog, Lucy T. Dog. We asked what the Trail means to them and why they donated a brick.

Why did you buy the brick?
We purchased the brick because we wanted to support The Trail Foundation’s efforts and help maintain an Austin treasure that we all enjoy so much. We are happy to have a place where we can spend time together with our dog, and we look forward to sharing this with our children in the future.

What’s your favorite part about being on the Trail?
We love the opportunity to be outside and have an enjoyable place to walk and jog. We love seeing our fellow Austinites, Lucy loves the leash-free swim area, and it’s always a treat to see the baby ducks in the Spring.

What does Lucy T. Dog like to do best at the Trail?
Lucy is a wonder-mutt rescue dog: part Border Collie, Labrador, and who knows what else. Unfortunately, her retrieving mechanism seems to be broken, which is good for those baby ducks! She may not be the best fetcher, but she loves swimming to snag tennis balls out of the river. Well, at least until she gets distracted. Luckily, there is always another friendly dog around who is happy to save the ball for her.
