From your point of view, what sets the Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run & Party apart from other races in town?
There is nothing like the Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run; it is so very Austin in every possible way! It’s on a Thursday night which gives you a nice jump on a three-day weekend if you go ahead and take Friday off. You get to go run a super fun 5K at dusk along Caesar Chavez and take in the beautiful view of the Austin skyline. Then go have an ice-cold margarita and wonderful food from Maudie’s while you dance under the stars to a local Austin band. How cool is that?! Adding in the over-arching goal of giving back to the Trail in this really special way makes it the perfect event.

How do you see this race/The Trail Foundation fulfilling your company’s mission?
AMD is so proud to be a part of this event because it aligns with our corporate responsibility initiatives to contribute to our local communities through the time and talent of our workforce in company-sponsored volunteer events. One of the areas that we focus on is impacting our environment in a positive way. The Trail touches all of Austin. People from all walks of life come together in this very special place and form a community. TTF enhances all of our lives through the work of preserving, protecting, and enhancing this jewel.

Funds raised through your sponsorship will go back to the Trail. What future Trail projects are you most excited for?
The Boardwalk was transformative. That part of the Trail offers beautiful views of the Austin skyline that are breathtaking for Austinites as well as visitors from all over the world. I am looking forward to seeing how the south shore district comes together as well as the opportunities around the Holly Street Power Plant.

If you had to (not that we would make you choose), would you pick running or margaritas?
LOL! That’s an easy one (and you may think I am crazy)…but I’d pick running.
