SUMMARY:Bird Walk with Travis Audubon
DESCRIPTION:Join Rachel Zierzow and TTC staff\, Jonatan Salinas\, to find birds and observe their behavior on the new section of the Butler Trail\, the Holly Trailhead\, historically part of the decommissioned Holly Power Plant at Festival Beach. Recently planted native trees\, shrubs\, wildflowers\, and natural spring water dominate the landscape and provide excellent habitats for many different species of birds. As TTC restores this new section of the trail\, we will see a change of birds\, so you’ll want to come on this monthly walk. \nThis bird walk is ideal for beginners\, but all levels are welcome. We have binoculars to lend to anyone that doesn’t have a pair. Our walk will total 1-2 miles in about 3 hours\, making our way through the Holly Trail and adjacent to Lady Bird Lake to listen to and look for resident birds\, migrants\, and flyovers. The terrain is mostly flat (dissolved gravel trail and sidewalks) and there is ADA accessibility at the Holly Trail Overlook.  In winter\, we will stop at the Holly Trail overlook section of the trail a bit to watch the waterfowl. \nRegistration is required and is limited to 10 participants. A reminder email with pertinent details will be sent before the field trip. Register HERE!

SUMMARY:HAAM Day on the Trail | Mélat
DESCRIPTION:« All Events\n \n \n September 23\n @\n6:00 pm\n –\n7:30 pm \nHAAM Day on the Trail | Mélat\nWe’re previewing our Fall 2025 Music on the Trail Series with a special performance on HAAM Day! HAAM Day Music Festival 2025\, powered by PNC\, SXSW & C3 Presents\, is the world’s largest one-day local music festival\, featuring 250+ live performances at 100+ venues around town (including the Rainey Street Trailhead!)\, from 300+ musicians to raise awareness and funds for HAAM! \n \n Add to Calendar\n \nAbout the Artist\nMélat’s powerful voice immediately commands attention. She was born in Austin and is a graduate of Cedar Park High School\, but her upbringing was far from typical. Her parents\, both immigrants of Ethiopia\, had to flee their home country in the dead of night. Influenced by her cultural upbringing (her parents still speak their native language\, Amharic) and her father’s love of American R&B\, Mélat has found a voice and style all her own\, and her talent has gained her more and more attention. Her new album Move Me II: The Present\, is an intimate and fully realized collection of soulful R&B. \n – Jeff McCord\, KUTX Music Director \n \n Instagram\n \n \n Facebook\n \n \n Globe\n \n \nGetting There\nThis park space features: \n\n SEATING AREA \n\n GRASSY LAWN \n\n NATURE PLAY \n\n RESTROOMS \nCity metered street parking is available along East Ave. and Cummings St. \n \n\n	Related Events\n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | PAACK	\n\n\n	October 1 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | N.O.A.	\n\n\n	October 8 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | Me Nd Adam	\n\n\n	October 15 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n Wednesday Plant Workdays	\n\n\n	\n Wednesday Plant Workdays

SUMMARY:Tree ID Walk
DESCRIPTION:Tree ID Walk With TreeFolks and Central Texas Seed Savers\nEver wondered what kind of tree is growing in your yard or along your favorite trail? Or maybe you’re looking for a new way to connect with nature? 🌳 Join the Central Texas Seed Savers and TreeFolks at International Shores for a hands-on Tree ID lesson! \nDuring this event\, you’ll also discover how to safely and ethically collect seeds to contribute to the TreeFolks Seeds To Trees Native Nursery\, which grows young trees for planting projects across Central Texas. It’s a chance to learn\, give back\, and see the forest for the trees—literally! \nEvent Details \n\nMeeting Location: International Shores\nParking: Street parking along S Lakeshore Blvd\n\nRegister \n  \n\nAbout Tree Identification \nTree identification is the practice of recognizing trees by their leaves\, bark\, shape\, and other features—a skill that can deepen your appreciation for the natural world and help you understand the important role trees play in our local ecosystem. By learning to identify native trees\, you’ll gain the tools to spot them in your own neighborhood\, support their conservation\, and share that knowledge with others. \nAbout Our Event Partners \nThe Central Texas Seed Savers is a growing network of people who love seeds\, with a mission to prevent the extinction of ecologically and culinarily important plants in the Central Texas Region. \nTreeFolks was founded as Austin’s Urban Forestry nonprofit in 1989. Since then\, TreeFolks has grown to work with communities throughout Central Texas in community tree planting\, tree giveaways\, education\, and urban-wildland reforestation efforts. Our mission is to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees. \n  \n\nVolunteer On The Trail\nLooking for more volunteer opportunities?
