SUMMARY:Maraca Bench Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Maraca Bench Trail Tour 2025\nThe Longhorn Dam Pedestrian Bridge will mark a milestone for the Butler Trail\, completing the loop so Trail users can enjoy a seamless\, traffic-free experience! To celebrate\, we are unveiling our new Maraca benches—a first for the Trail. Designed by Austin-based Lemmo Architecture and Design and fabricated by Harvest Lumber Co.\, these benches honor the neighborhood’s Hispanic roots\, history\, and culture. A total of 31 benches will be installed along the bridge\, set to open in 2026. \n \nWe’re taking our first Maraca bench on a trip around the Trail for everyone to see! The “roadshow” bench is the prototype we built to confirm bench height\, depth\, back angle and supports. Through this process\, we decided to reduce the width of the seat by 2-1/2 inches for the 14 benches to be placed on the bridge. The bench plaque will also be slightly smaller than shown at 3 x 10 inches. \nFrom February through the Fall of 2025\, catch a prototype of the Maraca bench at three spots on the Trail: \n\nFebruary – Rainey Street Trailhead\nMay – Auditorium Shores\nAugust – Holly Shores\n\nFebruary\nRainey Street TrailHead \nMay\nAuditorium Shores \nAugust\nHolly Shores \nThe “Maraca” benches will be made of reclaimed/salvaged hardwood from cypress trees\, and they will feature light tones that are weatherproofed. Additionally\, the benches will be accented with powder-coated steel in shades that honor the neighborhood’s Hispanic roots\, history\, and culture. \n  \nInspiration & Design\nLearn more about the unique bench designs and the local inspiration behind them from Lemmo Architecture and Design’s design booklet.\nSee Now \nBench Adoption\nAdopting a bench is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or give a meaningful gift.\nAdoption Details \nInspiration & Design\nLearn more about the unique bench designs and the local inspiration behind them from Lemmo Architecture and Design’s design booklet.\nSee Now \nBench Adoption\nAdopting a bench is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or give a meaningful gift.\nAdoption Details

DESCRIPTION:« All Events\n \n \n September 23\n @\n6:00 pm\n –\n7:30 pm \nHAAM Day on the Trail | Mélat\nWe’re previewing our Fall 2025 Music on the Trail Series with a special performance on HAAM Day! HAAM Day Music Festival 2025\, powered by PNC\, SXSW & C3 Presents\, is the world’s largest one-day local music festival\, featuring 250+ live performances at 100+ venues around town (including the Rainey Street Trailhead!)\, from 300+ musicians to raise awareness and funds for HAAM! \n \n Add to Calendar\n \nAbout the Artist\nMélat’s powerful voice immediately commands attention. She was born in Austin and is a graduate of Cedar Park High School\, but her upbringing was far from typical. Her parents\, both immigrants of Ethiopia\, had to flee their home country in the dead of night. Influenced by her cultural upbringing (her parents still speak their native language\, Amharic) and her father’s love of American R&B\, Mélat has found a voice and style all her own\, and her talent has gained her more and more attention. Her new album Move Me II: The Present\, is an intimate and fully realized collection of soulful R&B. \n – Jeff McCord\, KUTX Music Director \n \n Instagram\n \n \n Facebook\n \n \n Globe\n \n \nGetting There\nThis park space features: \n\n SEATING AREA \n\n GRASSY LAWN \n\n NATURE PLAY \n\n RESTROOMS \nCity metered street parking is available along East Ave. and Cummings St. \n \n\n	Related Events\n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | PAACK	\n\n\n	October 1 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | N.O.A.	\n\n\n	October 8 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | Me Nd Adam	\n\n\n	October 15 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n Wednesday Plant Workdays	\n\n\n	\n Wednesday Plant Workdays

SUMMARY:Tree ID Walk
DESCRIPTION:Tree ID Walk With TreeFolks and Central Texas Seed Savers\nEver wondered what kind of tree is growing in your yard or along your favorite trail? Or maybe you’re looking for a new way to connect with nature? 🌳 Join the Central Texas Seed Savers and TreeFolks at International Shores for a hands-on Tree ID lesson! \nDuring this event\, you’ll also discover how to safely and ethically collect seeds to contribute to the TreeFolks Seeds To Trees Native Nursery\, which grows young trees for planting projects across Central Texas. It’s a chance to learn\, give back\, and see the forest for the trees—literally! \nEvent Details \n\nMeeting Location: International Shores\nParking: Street parking along S Lakeshore Blvd\n\nRegister \n  \n\nAbout Tree Identification \nTree identification is the practice of recognizing trees by their leaves\, bark\, shape\, and other features—a skill that can deepen your appreciation for the natural world and help you understand the important role trees play in our local ecosystem. By learning to identify native trees\, you’ll gain the tools to spot them in your own neighborhood\, support their conservation\, and share that knowledge with others. \nAbout Our Event Partners \nThe Central Texas Seed Savers is a growing network of people who love seeds\, with a mission to prevent the extinction of ecologically and culinarily important plants in the Central Texas Region. \nTreeFolks was founded as Austin’s Urban Forestry nonprofit in 1989. Since then\, TreeFolks has grown to work with communities throughout Central Texas in community tree planting\, tree giveaways\, education\, and urban-wildland reforestation efforts. Our mission is to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees. \n  \n\nVolunteer On The Trail\nLooking for more volunteer opportunities? So grab a blanket\, bring some friends\, and let’s make Wednesdays the best night of the week! \n \n Add to Calendar\n \nAbout the Artist\nA lady love project forged through new and old friendships\, formed over a kitchen table and a couple of bottles of wine. PAACK began as nothing more than an excuse for a couple of girls to get together\, howl\, drink wine\, and sing some songs. After an improvised gig one Monday night at C-Boys Heart & Soul\, the PAACK found themselves swapping songs and stories. They were soon offered the Monday night residency and began featuring other Austin Women as special guests\, embracing sisterhood in song with the philosophy “there is always more room at the table.” \nEach woman fronts her own musical project PAACK – Paige DeChausse of The Reverent Few\, Andrea Magee of Beat Root Revival & Andrea Magee Band\, Violet Lea of Madam Radar\, Cari Hutson of Cari Hutson & Kelly Green of Madam Radar. \n \n Instagram\n \n \n Facebook\n \n \n Globe\n \n \nGetting There\nThis park space features: \n\n SEATING AREA \n\n GRASSY LAWN \n\n NATURE PLAY \n\n RESTROOMS \nCity metered street parking is available along East Ave. and Cummings St. \n \n\n	Related Events\n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | N.O.A.	\n\n\n	October 8 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | Me Nd Adam	\n\n\n	October 15 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n Music On The Trail | Peterson Brothers	\n\n\n	October 22 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n Wednesday Plant Workdays	\n\n\n	\n Wednesday Plant Workdays

Soulful vocals and electrifying live performances have earned her recognition in the Austin music scene\, where she has been performing professionally since 2011.  \nAs a new staple in the Austin music scene\, NOA is a fresh addition. Inspired by vintage sounds of the 70’s and hidden gem B-sides\, her latest EP\, N.O.A & The Goodest Ones\, pays homage to Soul/Rock styles and R&B vulnerability.  Co-written by Austin Music legend turned Netflix Celebrity D-Madness\, the single off the EP\, It Ain’t Nothing\, nails retro-rock groove ballad with sincerity.
