[column col=”1/2″]Jones Energy has a history of partnering with The Trail Foundation to help achieve TTF’s mission of protecting and enhancing the Butler Trail at Lady Bird Lake. Jones Energy was an instrumental partner in TTF’s Boardwalk Capital Campaign from 2012-2014. Employees contributed over $92,000 to the campaign and Jonny Jones personally contributed over $66,000 which brought the Jones Energy total to over $158,000!
Starting in October of 2010, Jones Energy has closed the office for a full day and sent all of their employees to give back to the Trail with a volunteer day! Over the years Jones Energy employees have planted over 150 trees, spread hundreds of cubic yards of mulch, planted 15 lbs of wildflower seed, picked up bags upon bags of trash from the Trail and the lake, cut back over 10 miles of invasive grapevine, planted several hundred shrubs and plants at TTF landscape projects, planted 1000 live root plants, weeded many gardens, repainted park facilities, helped organize TTF’s tool trailer, and removed brush from the Trail, all of which contributed over 2,000 hours of volunteer time!

Not only has Jones been able to contribute financially AND with sweat equity, they have helped TTF create a model for responsible corporate volunteerism to showcase to other businesses what can been done in the community if we all work together.
Continuing this longstanding volunteer tradition, on Thursday, October 27th Jones Energy will give back again for the sixth year. This year’s volunteer day activities will include the creation of stormwater infrastructure, wildflower seeding, tree planting, invasive grapevine cutback, mulching and more!
As part of the volunteer effort this year, Jones Energy will also be fundraising with a goal of $5000 to support the critical work of The Trail Foundation. On completion of employees raising $5000, Jones Energy will match with $5000 and Jonny Jones will personally match with an additional $10,000, for a total of $20,000 raised! Funds raised will cover the work being done by the company through the volunteer day, which will advance the ecological restoration efforts of The Trail Foundation. Jones Energy is confident in The Trail Foundation’s ability to protect and enhance the Butler Trail and are proud of the ongoing partnership. Through the company’s ability to care for the Trail through volunteerism and financial support we are making the Trail a better place for the thousands of people who use it every day. Whether you use the Trail on a regular basis or have never been before, thank you for being a part of what makes Austin great.
